Israeli Jewish Orthodox soldiers of the Netzah Yehuda Battalion ‎(also known as Nahal Haredi brigade), are seen during a swearing-in ceremony held at the Ammunition Hill national memorial site in Jerusalem, on May 31, 2012. The unit, part of the Israeli Defense Forces Kfir Brigade, was created by a group of rabbis in cooperation with the IDF and Israel's Ministry of Defense, as a venue for young men who wish to serve the national interests of the state of Israel while adhering to the highest religious standards.

About this blog

Photo Op: short for photo opportunity, originally referred to an opportunity to take a memorable and effective photograph of a politician, a celebrity, or a notable event. The term has acquired a negative connotation, referring to a carefully planned pseudo-event, or a non-event that often masquerades as news. This blog is called "Photo Op" and I hope this is where the resemblance to the above definition ends.
