Beast Parade 2010

Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men hold a banner opposing the gay pride parade, as they stand next to a mock horse at the beginning of the 'Beast Parade' held in Jerusalem, on July 29, 2010. The anti gay pride parade is part of the protest parades against the mass event held by the gay-lesbian community at the same time. The protesters had initially asked police for a permit to bring live donkeys for their demonstration, police rejected the request, and the compromise of cardboard animals or mock animals was settled upon.

About this blog

Photo Op: short for photo opportunity, originally referred to an opportunity to take a memorable and effective photograph of a politician, a celebrity, or a notable event. The term has acquired a negative connotation, referring to a carefully planned pseudo-event, or a non-event that often masquerades as news. This blog is called "Photo Op" and I hope this is where the resemblance to the above definition ends.
